ESSEX STEAM TRAIN & RIVERBOAT CRUISE                                                             FEE: $140

Monday, October 17

Depart for Essex, Connecticut and start your day with a delightful 3-course lunch at one of New England’s truly original country inns, The Griswold Inn. Luncheon includes:  Potato Bisque Soup, choice of Baked Cod or Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Brownie w/whipped cream for dessert.  Please indicate choice upon registration. After lunch, depart for the historic 1892 Essex Station, where you’ll board vintage rail cars pulled by an authentic steam locomotive. The train meanders through the scenic countryside to Deep River Landing, where you’re escorted onto the Becky Thatcher Riverboat. Aboard Becky’s 1-1/4 hour cruise along the Connecticut River, you’ll delight in breathtaking scenery and view historic landmarks such as Gillette Castle and Goodspeed Opera House. When Becky returns to Deep River Landing, the steam train welcomes you for the return trip to Essex Station. Bus departs Faith Reformed Church, Midland Park at 8:30 a.m. and returns approximately 7:15 p.m.

 

VILLA ROMA TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL BUBLÉ AND LUNCHEON                  FEE: $120

Join us at the extravagant Villa Roma Resort, located in the heart of the Catskills in Callicoon, NY.  for a musical tribute to Michael BubleĢ  and luncheon. With three voices singing incredible songs such as “Moondance”, “Sway”, “Come Fly with Me, “ Home”, “Save the Last Dance for Me” and many more , Shades of Bublé brings the swinging standards and pop hits of Michael Bublé to the stage in an unforgettable high-energy concert event. GILDED AGE TOUR, HUDSON VALLEY, NY                                                     FEE: $130

Wednesday, October 26

Let’s head to Staatsburgh State Historic Site, in Staatsburgh N.Y. for a historical “Titanic” themed Gilded Age tour. This Hudson River mansion was inherited by Ruth Livingston and her financier and philanthropist husband, Ogden Mills.  In 1895, Mr. and Mrs. Mills remodeled and enlarged it into a 65-room Beaux-Arts mansion; Our day continues down the Hudson River to lunch at “River Station'' in Poughkeepsie. You will enjoy the view while you start your meal with your choice of: Eggplant Rollatini, Flat Iron Steak with Mushroom Gravy or Chicken Piccata. Please indicate choice when registering. Coffee, tea and dessert are included with lunch.  Our last stop is in Poughkeepsie N.Y. with a guided tour at Locust Grove, the summer home of Samuel Morse, artist and inventor of the telegraph and Morse Code. We will visit the site and view the home still filled with the Young’s 20th century collection of furnishings and art.                                               *Due to the historic nature of the trip and while efforts have been made to create ramps, there are some stairs at each location as well as the restaurant. Come and spend a day of fun at Mount Airy Casino/Resort in the Poconos, where every minute is a thrill.  You will also enjoy Carole’s Kings, a musical tribute to Carole King and the music of Beautiful.  Fee includes a $15 slot voucher and show ticket. NEWARK ADVENTURE-ART, MUSIC & CULINARY DELIGHTS                               FEE: $119

Friday, November 18

Join us today on a Special Jersey adventure! We begin our day exploring The Newark Museum of Art: New Jersey's largest Museum, which includes an unforgettable experience in the arts and natural sciences. We will take an inspirational self -guided journey through 80 galleries of world-class collections of Asian, Native and American Art. Then it's off for our special lunch at the Chateau of Spain. Our luncheon includes two appetizers (Stuffed Mushrooms and Spanish Sausage), a main course of either 10 oz New York Strip Steak, Chicken Cutlet sauteed in Garlic Sauce, Salmon Filet broiled in a light garlic sauce or Filet of Sole stuffed  with crabmeat. Dessert includes cheesecake and coffee or tea. Please indicate your choice of entrée when registering.  After this gourmet lunch we will leave for the Grammy Museum located at the Prudential Center. Here we will be exposed to the unique heritage and history of American Music.  We will see exhibits that include New Jersey iconic legends that share our Jersey roots. SINTERKLAAS FESTIVAL, RHINEBECK, NY                                                     FEE: $69

Saturday, December 3

The “Sinterklaas” festival in Rhinebeck N.Y. is a mix of the Hudson Valley’s long time Dutch heritage with a non-denominational, all-inclusive and modern twist! Everyone is invited to participate in this celebration where children are raised up from the people with the least power, to the kings and queens of the day! Throughout this walking village, there are activities, performances, and roaming street entertainment.  All of this leads to the 6:00 PM Children’s Starlight Parade where “Sinterklaas”, along with his white horse, lead a dazzling procession of one – two story animated puppets, live bands and performers through the center of the village. This is truly an incredible day of community and celebration. NYC BOTANICAL GARDENS HOLIDAY TOUR                                                             FEE: $119

Tuesday, December 6

Join us today on a festive, holiday celebration! Our first stop will be the New York Botanical Gardens Holiday display which features both their annual miniature train show in addition to an amazing display of New York landmark buildings both past and present made of only natural materials. Then it’s on to a delicious lunch at Mario’s Restaurant (a Bronx-Arthur Ave Little Italy Eatery). Our menu choices include: a salad, pasta (penne marinara), a choice of veal parmigiana, chicken francese or filet of sole oreganata. All served with vegetables and unlimited soda. Dessert includes pastries and coffee or tea. Indicate meal selection when registering for this trip. After lunch we will have time to explore (on our own) the many great food and unique gift shops located on famed Arthur Ave which will be filled with holiday goodies.  Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
